I am a freelance Makeup artist( currently based in East London) what I believe sets me out from the other MakeUp artists around is that I often create the entire “show” by this I mean , I myself art direct the shoot, so I find the stylist, photographer, model and location as well as coming up with various concepts.
I am a huge fan of “street chic”, underground imagery and documentary style fashion stories. For me London is a fantastic city that allows me to explore these visuals in my own way.
I graduated from the London College of Fashion with Ba in fashion specialist makeup design (2006) since then i have travelled globally, educating myself with multicultural styles, beauty trends and lifestyles. From Dubai to Sydney,New york ,Paris and Barcelona I really challenged myself with just my suitcase(makeup kit) and aspirations to educate myself as an artist. There are always going to be new skills and techniques to learn. My background is in fine art and film, most of my inspiration and the creatives I look up to are from those industries.
Words from the famous Alan Watts keeps me focused, reminding me of why I need to stay true to myself and my ideas and not get distracted by the struggle and competition the creative sector has-
“What makes you itch? What sort of situation would you like?…”
Aside from my role as a MakeUp artist in the fashion sector, I have a few loyal private clients who I often makeup for various events and weddings. Its most satisfying doing makeup on everyday women who are looking for an honest, qualified artist to make them feel confident and beautiful.
